About CAA Manitoba

CAA Manitoba is a non–profit organization that serves more than 190,000 Members in this province. As a national body, CAA represents over 5 million Canadians.

Founded in 1904, CAA Manitoba has been a leader and advocate for the safety and security of all travellers.

In addition to our auto club services, CAA operates a full–service travel agency (since 1964), a home and property insurance agency (since 2000), and offers maintenance services for the province’s immobilizer program.

Right now in Manitoba, CAA operates five Service Centres located in Winnipeg, Brandon and Altona.

Our Service Centres offer comprehensive travel services, home and property insurance, Member–only discounts ranging from travel services to retail items and much, much more!

CAA In The Community

Our most recent community advocacy initiative is the “Move Over” law petition. CAA successfully lobbied the Manitoba government to amend the Highway Traffic Act, giving tow truck drivers the same protection offered to other roadside emergency personnel such as police officers, firefighters and ambulance operators.

We also helped develop, in conjunction with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers football club, the annual "Are You Road Worthy" designated–driver campaign to promote responsible fan behaviour and safe driving.

We’re also active across Manitoba with the School Safety Patrol program. In partnership with Manitoba Public Insurance, CAA provides free orange fluorescent vests and flags to nearly 10,000 patrollers across the province.

CAA On The Road

CAA Manitoba has operated roadside service for its members since the 1920’s. Originally dubbed the “Safety Patrol” vehicle, our roadside assistance provided automotive ‘first aid’ during the summer along the cottage and beach routes bordering Lake Winnipeg.

Modern–day roadside service at CAA has certainly evolved since its early days. Now it includes towing to a garage, boosting a dead battery, extricating vehicles from ditches or snow banks, changing a flat tire, unlocking a car, and more!

In 2005, CAA joined forces with Manitoba Public Insurance to install anti–theft immobilizers. Our two immobilizer facilities can install and protect up to 40 vehicles everyday with a new immobilizer.

CAA operates a club–owned fleet of tow trucks, battery-assist trucks and locksmith vans in Winnipeg and Brandon. CAA also has a network of more than 130 towing contractors throughout Manitoba to serve our members wherever and whenever they may need assistance.
