To illustrate just how dangerous texting and driving can be, CAA recently invited
a group of students from Winnipeg’s John Taylor Collegiate to Thunder Rapids Fun Park to take part in a special test.
The students were asked to drive a go–cart around flags set on the track, while trying to text message at the same time.
The results were an eye–opening experience for many of the students. "I missed a lot of the flags doing the texting and I hit the wall a few times," said student Christopher Miller. "Everyone was crashing – it was a lot harder."
The students who took part in the driving test agreed it was an effective demonstration on the dangers of texting while driving – and fun too!
