Child Car Seats
Another way to say you care
It's dangerous to hold children or let them stand in a moving vehicle. The Highway Traffic Act of Manitoba states that children under the age of five years and under 23 kg (50 lb.) must travel in an approved child car seat that's properly secured to the vehicle.
Each year in Canada, about 70 children under the age of five die and another 4,000 are injured in motor vehicle collisions.
CAA offers you unbiased child car seat information. CAA members and non-members can get information on child car seats, including recall notices, recommended seats for weight/height limits and instructions on tether bolt installation.
Remember: children under 12 years are safest in the back seat!
