CAA Manitoba - Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
Page hosting provided by the American Automobile Association.

We've come a long way since 1904, when a dozen of Manitoba's first motorists banded together to form the Winnipeg Automobile Club, the first club of its kind in Canada. This small but determined group the Manitoba Motor League, later evolved into CAA Manitoba.

Our 12 founding members would be in awe of what CAA Manitoba has become today. With more than 181,000 members, we are one of Manitoba's largest membership-based associations and oldest existing companies. Our members are also part of the largest member network of its kind in North America, a federation of four million plus CAA members across Canada, and more than 38 million AAA, or American Automobile Association, members in the United States. CAA Manitoba membership is also recognized and accepted in 110 countries around the world, under reciprocal services agreements with similar automobile clubs.

CAA Manitoba was originally formed to serve the needs of our members, and that remains our purpose today. While our earliest members focused on support for an amazing new invention called the automobile, or "horseless carriage", today's members look to CAA Manitoba for a much broader range of services. We continue to act as their advocate, speaking out on travel and motoring issues to government, industry and other consumer organizations. At the same time, we offer members a full-service travel agency, round-the-clock emergency road service, a network of approved automotive repair facilities, insurance services, and member-only discounts ranging from accommodations to retail items. Plus a growing member reward program with rebates on gas and purchases at Husky and Mohawk stations across Canada.

These are just some of a long list of services and benefits that come with a CAA membership. Since 1904, we've existed to serve our members on the road, and away from home. We'll continue to do so in the future, as we continue to grow and change to suit our members' needs. As our slogan says: "For everywhere you go today, go with CAA!"
