CAA has travel health coverage to suit your needs, whatever your travel requirements. You are eligible as long as you are: (1) a citizen or resident of Canada; (2) insured under a Canadian Government Health Insurance Plan; and (3) You must meet the Eligibility Requirements and the Plan Qualification Requirements.
Underwriters vary depending on plan qualified for.
PLAN 1: Annual Multi-Trip Coverage
Within Canada, this plan provides coverage for an unlimited number of trips with no restriction on the length of the trip. Outside of Canada, this plan provides coverage for the first 30 days of your trip.
If you are gone longer than 30 days, you can buy "Top-Up" coverage to a maximum of 365 days.
PLAN 2: Single Trip & Top-Up Coverage
This plan is available for up to 365 days, provided that you get confirmation from your Government Health Insurance Plan that your coverage is valid for the full period that you are out of province.
This program will reimburse the following eligible expenses, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.
- Emergency Hospital and Medical services
- Professional Services of a Chiropractic, Physiotherapist, or Podiatrist
- X-rays and laboratory procedures
- Prescriptions ordered by a physician
- Medical Appliance Rental
- Medical Transport including air ambulance
- Private Duty Nursing
- Dental Expense
- Return Airfare if you should return to Canada immediately for medical care
- Repatriation if your vehicle is stolen or rendered inoperable
- Transportation to Your Bedside if you are hospitalized
- Travelling Companion's Return if you are hospitalized
- Vehicle return if you are unable to do so because of a medical emergency
- Return of Children if you must return to Canada
- Hospital Allowance
