CAA was founded over a century ago with the core value and mission of keeping our Members safe. This has always been our top priority and has taken on added importance during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In response to the red alert level government restrictions aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19, the following changes will take place effective Thursday, November 12, 2020 until further notice:

  • Home, Auto and Travel Insurance services will be available in store. We strongly encourage you to book an appointment and we will be following safety and physical distancing precautions from start to finish. You can book your appointment by calling your preferred store:
  • Retail and Member Services will not be available in store. We welcome you to shop online 24/7. You can choose either curbside pickup at any Winnipeg or Brandon store OR ship to home.
  • Roadside Services will continue to operate as usual. If you are in need of roadside assistance, you can call 1-800-222-4357, submit a request online or download the CAA App.

Member Safety
Our Members continue to be impacted by this extraordinary situation and we have taken steps to ensure your safety and well-being.

Contact centres will continue to operate as normal. Please use the numbers below to contact us for inquiries and service.

Our retail closure may result in higher than normal call volumes. We appreciate your patience and want you to know we're working hard to connect with each of you as quickly as possible.

Our priority is, as always, the safety and well-being of our Members and Associates. While we modify how we deliver on our services, rest assured that we remain committed to being there for our Members.

Update from CAA - Monday, August 31, 2020

CAA appreciates all that First Responders and Healthcare Workers have contributed throughout the pandemic and we were happy to provide free roadside assistance to over 250 front line responders in Manitoba over the past 5 months. As things start to open up, our network is resuming normal operations and therefore the free roadside assistance for front line workers will continue only until September 7, 2020.

Dear Member,

The team at CAA Manitoba has worked hard at developing a plan to bring services back in a manner that is safe for you and our Associates.

As a result of this hard work, we are pleased to announce that CAA Stores in Winnipeg and Brandon will reopen for business on Monday, May 11.

At CAA, our highest priority is the health and safety of our Members, customers, Associates and the extended community. In order for us to ensure that we adhere to the guidelines outlined by the provincial government, things will look different when you come back to our stores. Some of these changes include reducing our store hours to allow more time for cleaning and disinfecting our stores, limiting the number of Members and customers in store at any time in order to meet social distancing guidelines, and providing hand sanitizing stations for you to use while visiting our stores. We also encourage those Members and customers who wish to speak with a travel consultant or insurance broker to make an appointment by calling us at 204-262-6000 or 1-800-237-4357 prior to coming to a store. Please review our new Store Hours and Store Visit Guidelines so you are aware of these changes and to help you prepare for your next trip to a CAA store.

Dear Member,

Manitobans have been committed to following public health recommendations to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and because of this, it was announced this week that various non-essential businesses will be permitted to begin reopening next week. We are excited at the prospect of seeing you all again soon!

The team at CAA Manitoba is working hard at developing a plan to bring services back in a manner that is safe for you and our Associates.

Things will look different when you come back to our stores and we are working hard at these details, including ensuring we have sufficient supply of personal protective equipment and that we adhere to the guidelines outlined by the government in a manner that allows proper social distancing.

This will take us extra time before we can open our doors for you. Our stores will continue to remain closed while we ready them for your safe return.

Once we have a confirmed reopen date for our retail locations, we will contact all emailable members to let you know. Updates will also be shared on caamanitoba.com and social media channels as they become available. We encourage you to check online for the most recent information.

A Responsibility to do something good.

A lot has happened over the past two weeks.

When the COVID-19 pandemic started to have significant impacts on the community, we acted quickly to proactively work with Members and customers to help them navigate travel plans and travel insurance coverage.

We temporarily closed all CAA Manitoba stores and asked all CAA Associates to work from home. We also made the hard decision to implement contact-free service throughout our roadside network in an effort to keep CAA Drivers and our Members safe.

We are doing our part to help contain this pandemic, but as a care-driven company, built on the values of making a difference in the community, to us, that isn’t enough.

This week, we quickly started looking at how else we can make a difference during this difficult time. We feel a responsibility to not just help our Members, but to do something good for the community.

I wanted to share a few things we are working on to help make a difference for people during this crisis.

  1. Support for our healthcare workers and first responders. Those working on the front lines of this crisis have enough to worry about, and we want to make sure they are able to get to and from work safely. We are now offering them free roadside assistance from CAA Manitoba during this crisis.

    If you work in a hospital or health care centre, or as a first responder for emergency services, you can request CAA Roadside Service by calling *222 on your mobile device or toll free at 1-800-222-4357.

    This free service is currently being offered to Members and non-Members alike. If you are a Member and a healthcare worker or first responder, these calls will not be counted on your Membership.

  2. Delivery of vital food and supplies. CAA has actively reached out to see how we can be of service to those delivering front-line care. We have connected with several large organizations in need, such as food banks, Meals on Wheels, pharmacies, and other community service groups. When we’ve got extra capacity amongst our fleet of vehicles and drivers, we are working with these organizations to assist with delivering vital supplies where they’re most urgently needed.

Our Associates are always looking for ways to make people’s days better and to keep them safe. We will continue to explore opportunities to help ease the burden of this crisis on our Members and the community at large.

We encourage our incredible Member community to continue to do what’s necessary as we all face this crisis together. Stay safe, practice social distancing to keep yourselves and our communities safe, and to reach out to vulnerable community members to help them feel less alone. We are in this together!

CAA Manitoba's Protective Actions Towards COVID-19.

As of Tuesday, March 17, 2020 we have temporarily closed all stores across Manitoba. We continue to offer services via phone and online seven days a week.

Here is what we are doing at CAA to keep our Members, Customers and Associates safe.

 

Member Safety.

Our Members continue to be impacted by this extraordinary situation and we have taken steps to ensure your safety and well-being.

Road service will continue to operate without interruption. However, steps have been taken to prepare our roadside network:

  • We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting of CAA trucks.
  • Best practices to reduce the risk of illness have been shared across the network.

Travel and Insurance Customers.

  • Global Affairs Canada has advised all travellers to avoid non-essential travel outside of Canada until further notice. We are committed to help you navigate your options, but please note that we are currently experiencing a very high volume of inquiries related to the impacts of COVID-19 and are working hard to connect with each of you as quickly as possible.
  • Our travel partners are providing us with continuous updates, and many are amending their change or cancellation policies to help travellers adjust their plans.

Associate Well-being and Safety.

The safety and well-being of CAA Associates continues to be paramount.

  • Effective immediately, CAA Associates who can work from home have been encouraged to do so. We are doing our part to help contain this pandemic.
  • Despite the economic impacts of the pandemic on the travel industry, we will not layoff Associates or downsize the organization. Our Associates will be taken care of during this difficult time.

Our priority is, as always, the safety and well-being of our Members and Associates.

While we modify how we deliver on our services, rest assured that we remain committed to being there for our Members during these uncertain times.
