Do I need to insure my snowmobile with MPI?
Yes, MPI is the only option in Manitoba to insure your snowmobile, as coverate is not available through your property insurance. The basic coverage includes $500,000 third party liability and $500,000 underinsured motorist coverage.
It is recommended to review and discuss all the additional coverages with your Autopac agent. These additional coverages include: accident benefits, comprehensive coverage, collision coverage, and increased third party liability coverage. If you only operate your snowmobile on your own property you do not need to register your snowmobile with Autopac, however, it is highly recommended that you do buy insurance.
For more information on snowmobiles please click here and there is an excellent brochure with information if you’d like to know more.

Short trips need travel insurance too^
Travel easier with 4 or 8-day Multi-Trip Travel Medical Insurance Plans
It’s true. When making short trips across the border or across Canada, your provincial government recommends travel medical insurance. You don’t have to carry individual travel insurance policies for every trip. For one, it’s a lot to carry, and two, it’s so much to coordinate and organize. Get a Multi-Trip Travel Insurance Plan instead. These plans are an easy and convenient way to travel insured with the same features and benefits of an individual travel insurance plan. You’ll save time and money, especially because you travel many times a year.
CAA’s 4 or 8-day Multi-Trip Travel Medical Insurance Plans cover you for up to 4 or 8 days of unlimited trips outside of Canada for 12 months at a time^^. Plus, you can buy additional coverage if any of your trips exceed the 4 or 8-day limit. If you’re only travelling within Canada, you’re covered for up to 365 days of unlimited trips, for 12 months at a time.
When you map out your travel plans for the rest of the season, take advantage of CAA’s new 4 or 8-day Multi-Trip Travel Medical Insurance Plans:
- Multi-Trip plans cover you for up to 12 months
- Unlimited trips of up to 4 or 8 days outside of Canada, and unlimited trips of up to 365 days at a time for travel within Canada

Being so cold outside, many people are worried about freezing pipes – how can this affect me and what can I do to protect myself?
Yes, it’s chilly outside! Many people don’t realize that as a homeowner you are responsible for the underground service lines that run from the street to your home. A number of problems can occur with these lines, such as rust, corrosion, systems breakdown or rupture due to freezing. These are not covered under most home insurance policies. Service line coverage protects you from losses due to damage or failure of these lines by extending your home insurance coverage to underground piping, wiring, valves and more. This would provide protection in the event of sudden and accidental bursting of pipes between your house and the city lines. This coverage can be added to your homeowner policy to provide protection against some of the unexpected damage to your service lines and the resulting expenses. Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance
Who says there are no guarantees in life?
If you’ve had difficulty finding affordable coverage because of your age or health you can now add life insurance to that list of guarantees – thanks to CAA.
Some people believe they can’t get coverage.
As you age, it can become increasingly difficult – and maddening – to try and find affordable life insurance coverage, especially if you have any medical issues. To make things even more challenging, when many people retire they lose the life insurance coverage they have through their workplace group plan, robbing them of protection at the very time they may need it the most.
Some people don’t even try to get life insurance because they assume they’ll be turned down due to their medical history, which may include health issues like diabetes, cancer or heart problems. Or they believe the premiums will be too expensive because of their age. Sadly, those are costly – and incorrect – assumptions.
Guaranteed means guaranteed. Period.
CAA Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance offers you an affordable, guaranteed way to leave your loved ones an extra measure of security or to help ease the financial burden of funeral and final expenses (an important consideration, given that the cost of a funeral can easily exceed $10,000 these days).
If you’re a Canadian resident aged 40 to 75, CAA Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance offers you guaranteed acceptance – regardless of your current health, medical history or age. No medical exam or health questionnaire is required. You cannot be turned down.
Your insurance rates are locked-in and will never go up. Your coverage will never decrease. And, you’ll have lifetime protection, as long as your premiums are paid. Once you reach age 95 your coverage will continue but your premium payments will come to an end. Sound good? There are even more reasons why CAA Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance is the smart choice...
If you die as a result of an accident before age 85, your beneficiary will be eligible to receive five times your coverage amount. That means your beneficiary could receive up to $125,000. If you die from non-accidental causes within the first two years of coverage, all of the premiums you have paid will be returned to your beneficiary. And, perhaps best of all, as a CAA Member, your coverage will increase by 2 per cent every year – at no additional cost to you (for up to 25 years).
A simple, low cost, solution.
With coverage amounts from $5,000 to $25,000 available, CAA Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance offers you an economical, no-hassle way to get the extra financial protection you may need.
Maybe you’d like to leave a little something to your grandchildren to remember you by or to help with their post-secondary education costs. Perhaps you just want to make sure that your debts and final expenses don’t become a financial burden for your family.
No matter what your reasons, if you’re having trouble finding affordable life insurance, with CAA Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance your acceptance is guaranteed – regardless or your age or health.Learn More
