A CAA Member event lands a young hockey fan some special prizes from his NHL hero.
Dress for the job you want, says the old adage. For 15-year-old Stealth Thompson, that means donning a suit just like his idol, Mark Scheifele. The aspiring NHLer recently scored a few pieces from the Winnipeg Jets centre when he won an autographed jersey and cap at a recent RW&CO. event hosted by CAA Manitoba.
Stealth, who plays the same position as Scheifele on the St. James Canucks, has a penchant for fine fashion. "Stealth has always loved to wear a suit and tie, even when he was one-year-old," muses his mom, Parris. "He loved the suit that Mark was wearing in the posters and life-size cut-out at the RW&CO. store. He even tried on the same one and posed for a picture in front of the cut-out."
At the Member-exclusive preview event, the mother-son duo enjoyed 50 percent off dapper duds along with the photo op. They also received gift cards, a swag bag and an entry to win the aforementioned Jets jersey.
"When Stealth won the autographed jersey and hat, he could not believe it! He was even more excited when his dad took him to the CAA Store to pick it up," says Parris, adding her son proudly displays the gear on his bedroom wall.
This wasn't the first time the family attended a CAA partner event - and it won't be the last. As Members for 30-plus years, the Thompsons have taken advantage of other offers and savings from CAA, including Disneyland and Las Vegas vacation bookings.
Their membership also came in handy at the rink - once to fix a flat tire and another time to open their truck when the keys were locked in. As Parris says, "I feel good knowing wherever we go, we won't miss out on our games, thanks to CAA!"
