Journey to Haida Gwaii, a mist-shrouded, Pacific-lapped cultural and natural oasis nestled off B.C.’s lush coast. Head west across the vast Prairies to the snowcapped Rocky Mountains and their crowning glory, Mount Robson. Follow cascading rivers, wind through beautiful valleys and learn first-hand about local Indigenous peoples. Explore national historic sites and remote villages before crossing the Hecate Strait to the haunting Haida Gwaii. Visit timber longhouses, take in towering totem poles, search for wildlife and traverse ancient forests. Enjoy a traditional feast, discover secluded, surf-kissed sandy beaches and dramatic coastlines before voyaging back to the mainland and the journey home.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1

Edmonton – Depart Toronto or Winnipeg to Edmonton. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and meet with the WestWorld Tours leader. Evening at leisure

Day 2

Prince George – Cross the British Columbia border and visit Mount Robson. Continue along to Prince George

Day 3

Terrace – Continue westward with a visit to the Ksan Historical Village and Museum in Hazelton. Arrive in Terrace and check in at the hotel

Day 4

Prince Rupert – Head into the Canadian wilderness and take a tour of the North Pacific Cannery Village Museum

Day 5

Queen Charlotte City – Board BC Ferries and sail to Queen Charlotte Islands home to the Haida. Cross the Hectate Strait to Skidegate and Queen Charlotte City

Day 6

Queen Charlotte City – In the morning, explore the beach at low tide (subject to change based on tide schedule). After a picnic lunch, a short interactive talk on Cedar: Tree of Life L

Day 7

Queen Charlotte City – Stop at Balance Rock. After lunch, visit the Golden Spruce Trail. In the evening, a Haida Feast L/D

Day 8

Queen Charlotte City – Visit the Haida Heritage Centre, a cedar multi-complex consisting of five contemporary timber longhouses

Day 9

Terrace – Depart Queen Charlotte Islands via the BC Ferry. Arrive back in Terrace for the night

Day 10

Prince George – Leisurely day of travel to Prince George. Visit the alpine themed town of Smithers. Farewell dinner this evening D

Day 11

Edmonton – Continue to Edmonton. Check in at the hotel with remainder of evening at leisure

Day 12

Transfer to the airport for the return flight to Toronto or Winnipeg
