Travel back in time on this fascinating journey through Newfoundland’s Northern Peninsula. Start at Port au Choix National Historic Site, home to archaeological finds spanning 6,000 years of human history. Travel up the peninsula to L’Anse aux Meadows, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and follow the paths the Vikings walked thousands of years ago. Afterwards, catch a ferry to Mary’s Harbour, then Battle Harbour, a famous 19th-century fishing village. Once back on the mainland, you’ll stop by Point Armour Lighthouse – Atlantic Canada’s tallest lighthouse – before moving onto picturesque Rocky Harbour in the heart of Gros Morne National Park. There you’ll enjoy a boat tour on Bonne Bay and experience the best of Newfoundland’s local seafood and produce.

Day 1

Deer Lake – Fly into Deer Lake from Toronto or Winnipeg. Meet your tour director and travel to the Port au Choix National Historic Site where you’ll see fascinating archaeological finds amid a rugged coastline. D

Day 2

St. Anthony – Travel up the Great Northern Peninsula to the Northern tip of Newfoundland and walk in the footsteps of the Vikings at L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to St. Anthony. B/D

Day 3

Battle Harbour – Drive to St. Barbe then ferry to Blanc Sablon, Quebec. Continue to Mary’s Harbour and ferry to the magical Battle Harbour. B/D

Day 4

Battle Harbour – Stroll with a local and learn about the fascinating history of this settlement. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely cruise along the coastline. B/L/D

Day 5

L’Anse Au Clair – Ferry back to the mainland and visit Red Bay National Historic Site. Visit Point Amour Lighthouse, the tallest lighthouse in Atlantic Canada, before continuing to L’Anse au Clair, on the southern coast of Labrador. B/D

Day 6

Rocky Harbour – On this travel day, ferry back to Newfoundland and journey to Gros Morne National Park. B/D

Day 7

Rocky Harbour – Enjoy an unforgettable day of unparalleled views in Gros Morne National Park. Enjoy a scenic boat tour of Bonne Bay. Visit the Tablelands to see awe-inspiring sites. Later is your Extraordinary Experience: A Finer Things Food Tour where you’ll enjoy local seafood and wine pairings. B/BL/D

Day 8

Visit the world-class Newfoundland insectarium and experience their beautiful indoor garden. Later, transfer to the Deer Lake airport for your return flight to Toronto or Winnipeg. B
