Wind your way through the rugged beauty of Vancouver Island’s coastal villages and ancient rainforests. Start with a city tour of Victoria – from the iconic Parliament to historic Chinatown – followed by a welcome dinner. Go whale-watching, then indulge in your Extraordinary Experience, a traditional afternoon tea at the Fairmont Empress Hotel. Admire the vibrant colours of the rose collection at Butchart Gardens, then savour lunch and panoramic views across the Haro Strait at the Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse. Next, explore the island from the remote oceanside villages of Ucluelet and Tofino in the west, to Parksville and Telegraph Cove in the east. Walk among 800-year-old trees in Cathedral Grove, take a boat tour to search for bears and explore the U’mista Cultural Centre. Enjoy a farewell dinner in charming Cowichan Bay.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1

Victoria – Depart Winnipeg for Victoria. Upon arrival, meet your guide and depart for a city tour. Enjoy a welcome dinner this evening. D

Day 2

Victoria – Start your day with a morning whale-watching tour in a covered vessel. In the afternoon, savour your Extraordinary Experience, a traditional afternoon tea at the Fairmont Empress Hotel. B

Day 3

Victoria – Visit the famous Butchart Gardens. Before returning to Victoria, enjoy a cider tasting and lunch at Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse. B/T/L

Day 4

Ucluelet – Drive along the Malahat Highway. Stop at the wooden railway Kinsol Trestle, the tiny city of Duncan and then enjoy lunch on your own at Coombs Old Country Market. Stop at Cathedral Grove where you can walk through an ancient rainforest. Evening arrival in Ucluelet. B

Day 5

Ucluelet – Explore Ucluelet, Tofino and the Tofino Botanical Gardens with your guide. In the afternoon, search for bears on a boat tour. Later, visit Tofino Brewing Company for a beer tasting. B/T

Day 6

Campbell River – This morning, head back to the east coast of Vancouver Island. Stop in Parksville and Qualicum Beach before arriving in Campbell River. Tonight, take a water taxi to the neighbouring Quadra Island for a group dinner at April Point Resort. B/D

Day 7

Campbell River – Early morning departure to Telegraph Cove. After a visit to this coastal village, arrive at Port McNeill Ferry Terminal. Walk on to the ferry to Alert Bay. Explore the U’mista Cultural Centre. Later in the afternoon, depart for Campbell River. Optional tour: Spend the day on a four-or eight-hour fishing charter. B

Day 8

Cowichan Bay – On the way to Cowichan Bay, stop at Morningstar Farm in Parksville. Other stops include Nanaimo, for a stroll along the Harbourfront Walkway, and Chemainus, for a visit to see some of the coastal community’s famous murals. Enjoy a farewell dinner at your hotel. B/D

Day 9

Transfer to the airport for your return flight to Winnipeg. B
