After a bumpy couple of years, Manitobans are optimistic

As I write this letter, summer has just arrived and the Manitoba government has eased some restrictions. At press time, fall will be on the horizon and our province will have seen many more changes. I’m hopeful we are returning to a sense of normalcy—thanks to Manitobans’ diligence in following reopening plans.

We’ve all spent the better part of 18 months wondering when we’ll be able to travel again. As more Canadians are vaccinated and many global restrictions begin to ease, there’s a sense of optimism. CAA Manitoba is here to help you fulfill your travel dreams, and we can help you travel when it’s safe to do so.

When you work with CAA Travel, you can count on continued support and advice—before, during and after your trip. To start dreaming of your next holiday, visit caamanitoba.com/travel to browse our digital TourBook guides or contact a CAA Travel Consultant.

Throughout the pandemic, CAA Manitoba has been there for Members. Our Associates have worked tirelessly to ensure Members are safe and protected, through roadside assistance, insurance services or bringing them home from overseas.

I’d like to especially acknowledge Pauline and Paul Villeneuve. After 30 years of dedicated service at the helm of the CAA Store in Altona, the pair have decided to retire. Throughout their CAA careers, the Villeneuves provided impeccable customer service in Southern Manitoba and we cannot thank them enough for taking care of Members’ insurance, travel and retail needs. We all wish Paul and Pauline the very best in their future endeavours!

Unfortunately, their retirement means the CAA Store in Altona is now closed. Members in the community can expect the same great service by shopping at caamanitoba.com or by visiting our stores in Winnipeg and Brandon.

One thing we’ve learned throughout the Covid-19 crisis is the importance of supporting Manitoba businesses and restaurants. CAA Manitoba showcases many local products in our stores, which Members have wholeheartedly embraced. I invite you to visit shop.caamanitoba.com or pop into a CAA Store to see the amazing products our local partners are creating.

Children are about to return to school, and that means our School Safety Patrollers will be back helping students get to school safely. Please keep our community safe by adhering to school-zone speed limits and keeping a watchful eye out for young pedestrians.

The safety of Manitobans is our top priority.

Timothy Scott, President, CAA Manitoba
