Things to Do

Portage la Prairie is located midway between Winnipeg and Brandon, and is perfect for a short trip from either direction. Stretch your legs at Island Park and enjoy a picnic while the kids have fun on the play structure. Splash Island offers summer fun with its outdoor pool and water slide. Stride Place is an indoor water park that boasts Manitoba’s largest wave pool, plus a water slide and lazy river.

Fort la Reine Museum showcases historic buildings including a schoolhouse, trapper's cabin and more. Head north to Delta Marsh on Lake Manitoba to birdwatch then dip your toes in the sand at St. Ambroise Provincial Park.

Head south to take in small-town charm in Holland, famous for its windmill roadside attraction, and Carman, with its six kilometres of paths that run through the town. Hit the links at Carman Golf and Curling Club.

Famous for its burgers, fries and thick milkshakes, Syl’s Drive-Inn Restaurant in Carman is sure to please.
