FAQs

CAA Gift Card Store

We offer physical gift cards (some are reloadable depending on brand), as well as digital gift cards. Members cannot reload digital gift cards at this time.
Once you’ve purchased an digital gift card, it will be delivered to your email with instructions on how to use it. If using in person, present the barcode when you’re ready to pay. If using online, add your digital gift card as a payment method and enter the card number and pin. Digital gift cards may take up to 15 minutes to arrive in recipient’s inbox.

Gift card should be treated as cash. CAA is not responsible for replacing the value if the card is lost, stolen, destroyed, damaged or used without your consent.
Most cards can be used for online purchases. However, each card is subject to the brand redemptions terms and conditions. For more details, please refer to the instructions on the back of the gift card. 
In Canada, most gift cards don’t expire. However, it’s best to check Ontario regulations on gift cards. Gift cards purchased through CAA Gift Card Store do not expire.
Yes, if you purchase an digital gift card you can select the option to send it as a gift, enter the recipient’s email address, proceed to checkout, and have it sent via email. The digital gift card may take up to 15 minutes to arrive in their inbox. 
You can check the balance in your CAA Gift Card Store online account or refer to the instructions provided on the back of the gift card.
You can reload your physical gift card by logging into your CAA Gift Card Store account.
We do not offer Members the ability to consolidate balances onto one gift card. If you wish to explore this as a possible option, please reach out directly to the brand.

CAA Dollars 

Every digital gift card or physical gift card purchase and reload earns 5% in CAA Dollars. 
CAA Dollars are only earned when you purchase gift card(s) online through the CAA Gift Card Store. 
You can check your CAA Dollar balance in your online My Account or through the CAA Mobile App®. 
To earn and redeem CAA Dollars, you must be a current CAA Member in good standing (CAA Membership dues paid in full by membership renewal date). If there is a lapse in your membership, you will forfeit any accumulated CAA Dollars. 
If you move to another CAA Club territory, your CAA Dollars will be transferred to your new membership.

Purchasing 

Gift cards can be purchased by CAA Members online using Visa or Mastercard credit or debit cards. Your credit card may offer you rewards for doing this so you can be rewarded even more.
As a CAA Member, you can buy gift cards online from our CAA Gift Card Store and earn 5% back in CAA Dollars. 
All gift cards are non-refundable. 
Since different stores have different regulations, it’s best to check the store’s policy to know if you can use a gift card to purchase another gift card in-store. 
No, only plastic gift cards are reloadable, while digital gift card can be repurchased. 
Gift cards are available in any amount between $10 CAD and $1,000 CAD. Minimum and maximum loads may vary depending on the brand. 
We currently offer Members the ability to set-up auto reload for Sobeys branded physical gift cards.

Transaction Limits 

The total daily limit for online purchases of plastic and digital gift cards combined is up to $1,000 CAD per transaction and per household, and the total monthly limit is $5,000 CAD per household per 30-day period. For example, if your household purchased $1,000 CAD in gift cards online at 11:00 p.m., you can’t make another purchase until after 12 a.m. A minimum purchase amount of $50 CAD is required when making a purchase of physical gift cards.

  • Daily and monthly limits include plastic and digital gift cards 
  • Online purchases and reloads of gift cards are only permitted from within Canada 
  • Only Members who have held an active membership for 30 days can purchase and reload gift cards online 
The daily limit timeframe implies a transaction made within the current 24-hour daily period between 12 a.m. to the following 12 a.m local time. The monthly maximum purchase limit per household reflects the transactions occurring per 30-day period.
